Man, so apparently I owe NY taxes! :O
My guess is my company deducted less the few months I was in HK because I didn't have an NY address.
But tax preparation ppl is filing me as a full-year NY resident.
Sucks! Because now my Fed refund check is pretty much just cancelling what I owe NY. :(
Well, I know... It's the same thing... Deducted less -> Less Refund = Deducted more -> More refund...
But... But... Man!
Another horror... My tax guy left a message on my phone telling me to change my name!
My 16-character long legal first name broke their system (their max is 15), so they can't e-file for me. T_T
Paper file = I have to actually go mail the crap myself!
Damn it!
And I didn't realize how much taxes I have to pay...
Last year I only worked full-time half a year, so it didn't really hit me. (and only paid NYC part year)
But... Wow, this sucks. :(
I kinda rather I was paying taxes to my own city (no country tax) to be used by my own people.
...Alright, it's mostly because income tax is so low... (capping out at 15%, not to mention all the exemptions... :D)
I hate being treated like an idiot by some idiot!! >_< >_< >_< >_<
Why do some people just go around trying to make others feel stupid?!Found unlimited free supply of painkillers - Advil, Tylenol, Moltrin, Aleve - in office! Happy! (well, as happy as someone who needs painkillers can be)
Also makes me wonder how many work hours do they really expect us to put in....?
Don't wanna go into details, but here's a part of my crappy day.
As part of my project, Project A, I changed Foo.
Project B was overseas teammate's huge project (which I had no idea about).
Boss in charge of both Projects A and B.
Today, Foo caused the world to fall apart.
Boss immediately assumed Project A broke everything.
Upon investigation, we found out it was because Project B needed to change Foo, but the change was never made.
Project B's teammate was half the world away, so I made Foo's change for Project B (and repaired world, fixed client's issue, everybody happy).
An hour later boss forgot what I fixed.
By afternoon he forgot Project B involved Foo.
I know by tomorrow he only remembers Project A and Foo, and therefore, Project A broke Foo.
...
I just hope this doesn't end up on my rap sheet.
